sam verniero attends roosevelt inaugral speech?

Well it wasn’t Sam himself, but rather his uncle Samuel Verniero from whom he received his name.  Sam’s uncle was a member of the Immaculate Conception sub-committee under the Appeal Executive Committee of the Carmel Guild of Newark.  The Carmel Guild of Newark was founded in 1930 during the Great Depression by Reverend Thomas Joseph Walsh.  It was a volunteer network that administered material and spiritual help to those in need.  They helped thousands of families, both Catholics and non-Catholics.  Click here for a transcript of the President Roosevelt’s inaugral speech that mentions Sam Verniero by name.
